Donate to the HYR-KRM Partnership!
Since Spring of 2017, HYR has partnered with Kentucky Refugee Ministries to give KRM soccer players an opportunity to play HYR soccer free of charge. We have had many generous families donate time to the cause by driving KRM players to practices and games or donating money that goes to pay for soccer cleats, socks, or shin guards or to pay a driver to take the HCM van around town picking up young players. We average around 50 KRM players per season from over 15 different countries.
It is a great opportunity for these newly relocated international families to integrate with the Louisville community and make friends. It is also a great opportunity for HYR players to get to meet and play with often very talented international players. (Anyone notice how few 2018 French World Cup Champion players this summer were born in France?) A true win-win for HYR and Louisville.
Basically, it costs around $100 per player per season to sponsor a player. This covers the driver, gas, and soccer equipment. HYR and KRM each contribute to the cause, and we also collect additional donations from participant families at registration. We get asked at times from HYR grandparents or community members at large how they can donate to that cause, so we set up this site to allow people to support this meaningful program.
If you would like to donate new or gently used cleats, socks, shin guards, or shirts for players (primarily age 8 - 16), contact Patrick Fitzgerald at
